TeamGantt allows users to try most features that they have to offers using a trial version for 30 days, no credit card required. Here is my experience using TeamGantt that may useful for you before choosing this software to manage your project.
First time after registered my account in TeamGantt, this app gives a question to configure the software such as which features that I plan to use and a question about my job.
Create a new project is easy, I can use the current project templates, sample templates from TeamGantt, or create a new one using the blank template. The project template really helps me to save many different templates for a different project type. For example, I can load a construction project schedule template in minutes and begin using the Gantt chart immediately.
In TeamGantt, you can invite User, Guest, and Resource to the project. The main differences between the three user type include project-permission level, number of projects, and associated with an email address. A user or a guest is associated with an email address and have access to the project in TeamGantt, but a Guest only invited to the single Project. While a Resource is a group or non-user added to TeamGantt for scheduling purposes only, does not have access to the project, and not associated with an email address.
Project menu in TeamGantt according to the configuration that was made at the beginning. If you choose all the features, the menu will include Gantt, List, Calendar, Discussions, People, History, Files, and Summary.
In my opinion, TeamGantt is the most easy-to-use Gantt Chart software on the market. Create a new task, milestone, or group task can be done directly through the Gantt view or List view. And use drag and drop feature to reorder task, change the task duration, or create a task dependency.
This software is very intuitive and not take a much time to learn about how to use it, especially the Gantt chart feature. When I move a mouse cursor over the task, all options that related to the task will be shown such as drag and drop feature, edit the task, convert to a subgroup, duplicate the task, and more.
Unlike most Gantt Chart in other Project Management Software, TeamGantt has a different color between planned timeline and actual timeline. So users are able to compare the original timeline projection with the actual timeline of the project with a baseline report. Furthermore, each bar’s color can be customized as I want.
The drawbacks that I found in TeamGantt is a checklist feature that only can be added and viewed through the list view. I think it would be better if the checklist feature also placed on the edit form that can be accessed through the Gantt view. Another drawback is I can’t customize the task status and workflow. TeamGantt uses % Complete to communicate how much work has been completed on a task.
Another interesting feature that I found in TeamGantt is document management. Through the “Files” menu, I can upload a new document to the Project, Task, Subgroup, and Milestone. Actually, the Document is a part of comments in the project, task, subgroup, and milestone. When you add comments through the Gantt view or List view, you can also attach a file into your comment.

Pros and Cons
Teamgantt helps you see all the processes in one place and you don’t have any uncovered one. Another good point is the ability to start projects intuitively without guidance from bots or any instructions.
This software has the most features required by Gantt Chart Software such as drag and drop, custom color, task dependencies, and customizable views. It also has a mobile app that helps you manage project and tasks on the go.
The task status and workflow can’t be customized. I can’t find the integration features with other software.
In my opinion, TeamGantt is the best online Gantt Chart Software on the market. As project management software, TeamGantt has the all basic features that required to manage a project including project planning and scheduling, progress tracking, resource management, discussion, and reporting. So we recommended TeamGantt for you who are looking easy-to-use project scheduling software.
This software is also a good alternative to complicated construction scheduling software. With TeamGantt, you can load job schedules in minutes and begin using the Gantt chart immediately. TeamGantt also helps you know exactly what each subcontractor is working on at all times within a project schedule. See all your jobs and subcontractors’ hours in a single unified view.
But for project types which requires a complex workflow like software development project, TeamGantt is not a good choice for you.
TeamGantt was co-founded in 2009 by John Correlli and Nathan Gilmore. At the time, they were both developing software for a large roofing contractor in Baltimore, Maryland. After searching hard for a good way to schedule and collaborate on projects online, they couldn’t find anything that did both well. They decided to tackle the challenge of building what would eventually become TeamGantt on nights and weekends.
After iterating on user feedback and paying close attention to usability, TeamGantt was officially launched in November 2010. To this day, TeamGantt continues to help teams large and small from every industry work smarter on their projects.
